Vivica A. Fox Gets Candid About Missing Out on Motherhood: “It’s My Biggest Regret”

“That’s the biggest regret of my life , not having a child,” she opens up on the upcoming episode of Oprah’s Where Are They Now, speaking with a level of honesty that immediately grabs your heart. She reflects on a moment years ago when she attended ESSENCE’s Black Women in Hollywood event. It was a glamorous day filled with celebration, inspiration, and sisterhood — but one moment stood out and stayed with her.

She remembers seeing Halle Berry, who had recently welcomed her daughter Nahla. The glow, the pride, the softness of new motherhood—it was all written across Halle’s face.

“I told her, ‘Wow, she’s so beautiful,’” Vivica recalls. “And Halle looked at me and said, ‘Vivica, if I knew then what I know now, I would’ve had five of them.’”

Those words hit her deeply. It wasn’t just what Halle said, but how she said it — with a joy that couldn’t be faked, a joy that only a parent truly understands. Vivica says Halle described the pure happiness she saw in Nahla’s eyes as “like no other high” she had ever experienced in her life.

That moment stayed with Fox, becoming a quiet reflection she carries with her. “I don’t get to see my eyes in a child,” she says softly. “I don’t get to experience that part of life, that unconditional love people always talk about.”

It’s a rare glimpse into a vulnerable side of Vivica — a reminder that behind the fame and the success are dreams and longings that don’t always unfold the way we imagine.
